Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.

Genesis 12:1

Walking the Path of Discipleship

Being a disciple entails devoted followership, with Jesus emphasizing “follow me” more than “believe in me” in the Gospel accounts, underscoring the universal summons to draw closer to Christ. However, Jesus never trivialized this call, highlighting its demand for effort, sacrifice, and lifelong dedication. As we embark on our summer worship reflections, we must first ponder the weight of this call and what it expects of those aspiring to be Christ’s disciples. Our role is to be witnesses, not secluded in the safety of sanctuaries, but to embrace a faith that takes risks, daily advancing toward the kin-dom of God.
