Our Mission Statement
As part of the Christian church, we are committed to winning people to Jesus Christ, nurturing and equipping each other in a loving, caring and sharing atmosphere.
Our Pastors, referred to in the army as officers, are focused on strengthening the corps (or the local church) in worship and service in the community, and to help meet the needs of anyone who visits.
The Mission Board consists of leaders within the corps who work together with the corps officers to help meet the needs of the corps members and lead the corps forwards in service.
The Salvation Army has eleven statements summing up what we believe as the Army. These give anyone interested a solid foundation on the Biblical beliefs the Army stands on.
In order to know where one is going, it’s always good to first know where one has come from. Knowing our history will give you a better understanding of just that, where we have come from and why we are where we are today.
The Salvation Army has been built on a more military type structure and therefore use different terms than other churches. Our list of Army Terminologies will give you a quick guide to some of the more commonly used terms.
