Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.

Matthew 10:40

Open Hearts, Open Doors

This week, our focus centers on hospitality, a concept that may appear casual or non-essential at first glance. It might seem like a social nicety aimed at improving our public image, but this perception is inaccurate. According to Jesus, hospitality is integral to our discipleship. In this context, we’ll explore both how we receive and extend hospitality, engaging with the concept of grace. Some of us find it easier to be givers of grace, while others are more comfortable as recipients, but regardless of our inclination, we are all called to be mindful of how we welcome, include, and make others feel a part of our community.

Implicit in our theme for this week is the belief that everyone has their own needs and desires, symbolized by thirst, and it is our responsibility to quench this thirst in others. While the world at large may be seen as our domain, it truly begins within the confines of our sanctuaries and fellowship halls. In essence, it begins at our doorstep.
