See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
1 John 3:1
Remembering and Celebrating
All Saints Day is on November 1, after Halloween, but many of us celebrate it on the first Sunday of November. We choose the readings for All Saints Day over those for the Twenty-Third Sunday after Pentecost. It’s a day to honour and thank the church saints, and you probably have your own traditions. We remember those who’ve passed with some sadness but also look forward to eternity and appreciate their lasting impact. Today, we recognize how our past shapes us and show gratitude to the saints still with us. It’s a day to celebrate the church’s life and mission and to hope for a more inclusive church that embraces people from all backgrounds. It’s all about our community.
