We have recently returned from Papua New Guinea where we served as School Administrator (Major Owen) and School Chaplain (Major Sandra). The Salvation Army Lae Primary School is a private school for preschool to grade eight students. It is a valuable educational ministry of The Salvation Army Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands Territory. We served there for two years. We previously served in
Papua New Guinea in 2000-2004, with our three daughters, as Training Principal and Education Officer of the Officer Training College. We are the proud parents of three adult daughters, Rebekah (Troy), a high school math and science teacher; Heather, a Registered Practical Nurse; and Tailtha, continuing to work on her BA at Booth University College. We have one precious granddaughter, Jersey, who will be
heading off to kindergarten in September.
We have been happily married for 33 years and are thankful to God for his faithfulness on our journey together. Prior to Salvation Army Officership Owen was a high school English Teacher for ten years and Sandra was a Registered Nurse for seven. We answered the call for full-time ministry in 1993 and were commissioned with the Messengers of Hope Session in 1995 out of St. John’s NL. We have served as
Corps Officers in Markham, On (1995-2000); Halifax Citadel Community Church, NS (2004-2008); Woodstock, ON (2008-2012) and Heritage Park Temple, MB (2012-2018). We love the pastoral ministry. We come to you with Pastor’s heart amid these challenging and unprecedented days of COVID-19. We look forward to when we can gather for corporate worship in the building. We are excited about this
new chapter in our lives and about joining the ministry team at Meadowlands. We have committed ourselves to what God wants to do in and through us as your Pastors.
