The Band and Songsters take part in ministry at certain Nursing Homes, Retirement Homes and the Booth Centre. The fourth Sunday, from September to June, is designated as Community Care Sunday. A small group from the sections will visit the home in the afternoon and take part in a thirty minute service which consists of songs, prayer, Bible reading and a short devotional.
The members then speak to those present and distribute the Faith and Friends
There are also individuals who either visit the shut-ins, telephone or send cards.
At Christmas the shut-ins receive a poinsettia.
In December, many of the groups will visit the homes on a Tuesday or Thursday evening before their weekly practice and do a special Christmas service. At this time calendars with the Corps information are given to the residents.
